SPARTANBURG, SC [September 3, 2012] – This morning deputies responded to a report of a shooting at 107 Rushmore Drive in the Inman community. Upon arrival they found a man, later identified as 38 year old, Steven Lee McDowell, lying in the hallway of the home in which he resided. Mr. McDowell had suffered a gunshot wound. Responding deputies and Investigators spoke with the complainant, Sharon Nicole Miller, about what had happened prior to her calling 911. During the course of the investigation it was later determined that this was an incident of domestic related homicide. Mr. McDowell and Ms. Miller were in a relationship and resided in the home on Rushmore Drive together. Ms. Miller has been arrested and charged with one count of Murder. She has been booked into the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center. Ms. Miller is awaiting a bond hearing that will be held at a time to be determined by the court. A motive for the shooting has not been determined at this time. There are no other suspects in this case.
