With the spread of the Coronavirus and after the steps that Governor McMaster has taken today, we would like to let the citizens of Spartanburg County to know that the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office is conducting business as usual with a few precautions. Our continued number one priority is the protection of the citizens of Spartanburg County. We will continue to answer calls for service as they come in. We do ask that if you have a situation that can be handled by the phone, we ask for your cooperation and understanding in allowing us to handle certain calls by the phone. With Governor McMaster’s orders and requests, we are taking steps to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. Due to the state of emergency declared by Governor McMaster, we are immediately closing the Spartanburg County Detention Center to the general public. Only law enforcement personnel and court officers will be allowed access to the Spartanburg County Detention Center. Video visitation from your home is still allowed; however, no in-person visits at the Detention Center will be permitted. This practice will remain in effect until further notice. As a community, if we follow the simple guidelines that have been provided to us to prevent the spread of this virus and practice good hygiene, we will get through this together.
