Last night, 24 Spartanburg County Citizens graduated from The Citizen’s Police Academy. T he Academy lasted 10 weeks and introduced participants to the various functions of the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office and featured instruction by staff from the different units of the Sheriff’s Office. The goal of the Citizen’s Police Academy, in addition to providing an overview of the Sheriff’s Office, is to create meaningful partnerships with the citizens of Spartanburg County and give the Sheriff’s Office the ability to serve our citizens better and more efficiently through the open exchange of knowledge and communication.
