Our investigator assigned to the S.C. Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force began an investigation on May 7, 2019, after receiving 4 cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about child pornography being uploaded from a location within this county. Once the suspect was identified, our investigator along with agents from the Department of Homeland Security executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence on May 16, 2019, where multiple computers and storage devices were seized as evidence. Our investigator attempted to interview the suspect that day, but he immediately invoked his right to an attorney. The seized evidence was examined, and on May 23, 2019, an agent with Homeland Security informed our investigator he had located over 350 images of child pornography. Our investigator presented his findings to a magistrate judge yesterday, who approved 10 warrants on the suspect for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – Third Degree. The suspect is Jack Wayne Coleman, W/M, 804 Old Canaan Rd., Spartanburg, SC, 29306, and he turned himself in those warrants this morning. He spent 4 hours in the detention facility before being released on bond. Our agency would like to thank the continued assistance of Homeland Security in investigating these types of cases. Coleman will be prosecuted by the S.C. Attorney General’s.
