03/21/2021 - Arrest made in Parental Kidnapping / Domestic Violence with a Weapon case

Last night at approx. 8:15 PM, deputies responded to 9136 Fairforest Rd. the Acapulco Restaurant, in reference to a disturbance involving a Parental Kidnapping/Domestic Violence incident involving a pistol.  One deputy responded to the incident location for the report, and other deputies combed the area for the suspect vehicle, a silver Toyota Tacoma.  Another deputy spotted a vehicle matching that description on Fairforest Rd. as it was turning onto Business 85.  He caught up to the vehicle, ran the tag, which turned out to be the suspect, and conducted a felony stop.  The suspect, Jose Pablo Galvez,, W/M,  was taken into custody without incident.  The child was in its car seat with no injury. After returning the child to the mother, the suspect was taken to the office and interviewed by a deputy.  The suspect eventually admitted to the elements of the incident and gave a written confession before being transported to the jail. A deputy obtained warrants for Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature, Kidnapping, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, 2 counts of Pointing and Presenting A Firearm, and Unlawful Carry of a Pistol. He appeared before a magistrate earlier today for arraignment on all his charges, and although the judge set a bond on his weapons charges, she deferred the setting of his bond on the Domestic Violence and Kidnapping charges to a circuit court judge.
