Yesterday morning at approx. 6:45 AM, the Circle K, 4451 Hwy. 9, Boiling Springs, SC, 29316, was the victim of an Armed Robbery. The clerk advised multiple suspects came in the store and robbed both the store and her of her pocketbook, which contained her mobile phone. The clerk advised she had a tracking application on her phone; so the deputy called the clerk’s daughter, who was able to track her mother’s phone utilizing the same application. With that information, the deputy was able to provide other deputies of the phone’s movement, which is why this agency notified the Greer Police Department, once the phone became stationary at a Hot Spot convenience store in their jurisdiction. Greer PD arrived on scene just as the suspects completed an Armed Robbery at that store. Greer PD attempted to pull over the suspect vehicle on Hwy. 14 but lost sight of the vehicle as it approached I-85 southbound. Greer PD relayed that information to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and the Highway Patrol, and Highway Patrol spotted the vehicle on I-85 and attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle refused to stop and continued on I-85 until it wrecked and flipped over at the White Horse Rd. exit. Highway Patrol was able to take a female suspect into custody, but the other 3 occupants of the vehicle were able to avoid capture, despite a canine track. It was also discovered that the suspect vehicle was reported stolen to the Mauldin Police Department yesterday morning at 1:40 AM.
Once the female suspect was treated at a Greenville hospital, she was transported back to Spartanburg, where she refused to answer any questions. An investigator presented the case to a magistrate, who approved warrants on her for 2 counts of Armed Robbery (the store and the clerk), Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. Our investigators compared the store video of yesterday’s incident to the video of another armed robbery of a convenience store at the Scotchman, 4884 Chesnee Hwy., Chesnee, SC, 29323, that occurred on January 27, 2022, at approx. 7:30 AM. The female suspect in that incident was wearing the same clothing as yesterday’s incident. Another investigator discussed that case with a magistrate, who approved warrants on the suspect for Armed Robbery and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime.
The suspect is Nevaeh Angel Boykin, B/F, 17 years old, 11 Pendleton Rd., Greenville, SC, 29611. Because of the seriousness of her offenses, she was charged as an adult, and her booking photo and both incident reports are attached above. A formal bond hearing was held this afternoon at 2:00 PM, where a magistrate deferred the setting of her bond to a circuit court judge. Despite her arrest, our investigation remains active in an attempt to identify her co-defendants, and anyone with any information is urged to contact Investigator Nick Federico at (864) 503-4591, or email him at nfederico@spartanburgcounty.org. Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-888-CRIME-SC (274-6372) or submit via the website of www.spartanburgcs.com.
